National Rifle Association Pistol Training 
This is a "Basics" program designed to teach the New Shooter everything they need to know about Safety and Responsibility with a Handgun.  
This class is also required to obtain a membership with SCFH Academy Shooting Range.
  • Fundamentals of Handgun Safety.                                                
  • Proper Shooting Techniques.
  • Choosing the proper handgun.
  • Choosing the proper ammunition.
Students learn how to select, test, inspect, and shoot a multitude of different handguns, Both Semi-Automatics and Revolvers.

  •    9mm     
  • .38 cal
  • .40 cal   
  • .45 cal     
Student will be given several practice test that simulate the Texas Concealed Handgun Practical Exam.  Students may use any caliber handgun for the simulated testing. After the NRA Pistol class has concluded, the student will be allowed to take the Official Texas Concealed Handgun Practical Exam at no extra cost.
Students that pass the State CHL Range exam will not be required to take the shooting exam during the CHL classroom training and will not need to bring a firearm to the CHL classroom training.
Cost Per Student.
Course includes all firearms, ammunition, lunch, and range fees.

This course is required for Range Membership.  Members may use the range at a cost of $10 per day.   This covers Liability Insurance.  

Non-members are prohibited from using the range without a Member that is a Certified/Licensed Instructor from either NRA or DPS.  No Exceptions.
